Updated weekly using the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) Midwest (PADD 2) On‑Highway Diesel Price, commonly referred to as the DOE diesel index.
The benchmark is the EIA Midwest (PADD 2) On‑Highway Diesel Price, published each Tuesday at approximately 10:00 a.m. ET from Monday’s survey. Taylor’s surcharge is effective that Tuesday through the following Monday. The table moves in $0.04 brackets — four cents of diesel equals 0.50 percentage points of surcharge. Weekly Fuel Surcharge Update
Due to increased volatility in diesel fuel prices, Taylor Distributing has transitioned from a monthly to a weekly fuel surcharge calculation to more closely reflect current market conditions. This weekly methodology is being implemented beginning September 22, 2026.
Fuel surcharges are calculated weekly using the most recently published U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) Midwest (PADD 2) On-Highway Diesel Price, commonly referred to as the DOE diesel index. The updated surcharge becomes effective the following day and remains in effect until the next weekly adjustment.
This methodology allows fuel surcharges to respond more closely to changes in the published diesel index, including both increases and decreases in fuel prices.
