Fleet sustainability · SmartWay since 2006

Moving freight responsibly.

Temporary custodians of this Earth — and we drive like it.

Sustainability isn’t a campaign at Taylor — it’s how we run the fleet. We’ve been an EPA SmartWay carrier since 2006, and we’re constantly looking for ways to be more sustainable for our fleet, our customers, and the planet.

Our commitment

We’re constantly looking for ways to be more sustainable.

As temporary custodians of this Earth, we take stewardship seriously. Sustainability guides how we spec, run, and route our fleet — and we pursue it on three fronts at once.

For our fleet
Cleaner, more efficient equipment and smarter operations that burn less and idle less, mile after mile.
For our customers
Transparent reporting whenever partners need it — measured emissions data they can attribute in their own Scope 3 inventories.
For the planet
A lower-carbon supply chain and a genuine commitment to leaving things better than we found them.
EPA SmartWay

A SmartWay carrier since 2006.

Taylor has been an EPA SmartWay carrier since 2006 — nearly two decades of measuring and improving fuel efficiency and emissions across our fleet. SmartWay keeps us accountable and gives our customers verified data they can use.

What ESG means at Taylor

Environmental, social & governance.

ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance — how a company manages its impact on the environment, its relationships with employees and communities, and the ethics and transparency of how it’s run.

For us it isn’t a trend — it’s a promise we’ve made to our people, our partners, and the planet. We integrate environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and good governance into how we operate, and we ask our customers, vendors, and partners to move toward that shared vision with us.

E

Environmental

Minimizing our footprint through optimized routes, reduced energy use, cleaner equipment, and sustainable packaging — measuring emissions across transportation, warehousing, and operations.

S

Social

Caring for our people and communities — a diverse, inclusive workplace, health and safety first, and genuine engagement with the neighborhoods we call home.

G

Governance

High ethical standards, transparency, and accountability. We report our sustainability progress using established frameworks — GRI, SASB, and TCFD — and back it with scientific reporting.

TMSA · 2024 Purpose Award

Recognized for outstanding sustainability

The Transportation Marketing & Sales Association named Taylor a recipient of its 2024 Purpose Award — recognizing our commitment to sustainability and our efforts to positively impact our communities and the environment. It’s a testament to our team and our corporate sustainability promise: to be responsible corporate citizens and drive positive change in our industry and beyond.

Commitments that go beyond the badge.

Certification is a starting point, not the finish line. Here’s how sustainability shows up in the way we actually operate.

Participant

LOCT — Supplier Leadership on Climate Transition

Our team participates in Supplier LOCT, a collaborative climate program managed by the global consultancy Guidehouse. Through expert-led seminars, member suppliers learn to track greenhouse gas emissions, set science-based targets, build abatement plans, and disclose progress — uniting leading brands and their suppliers to reduce Scope 3 emissions across the supply chain.

Completed

Footprinting: Scope 1, 2 & 3

We’ve completed our footprinting courses and measure our full greenhouse gas footprint — Scope 1 (direct), Scope 2 (purchased energy), and Scope 3 (value chain) — so we know exactly where to improve.

In place

Supplier Code of Conduct

We maintain a supplier code of conduct, extending our sustainability and ethics standards through our supply chain — because responsible operations don’t stop at our own fence line.

Always

Continuous improvement

We’re constantly looking for ways to be more sustainable — smarter routing, consolidated loads, reduced empty miles, and cleaner equipment as the fleet renews. The trend line is what we care about most.

— The full pictureScope 1, 2 & 3

We measure the whole footprint.

You can’t reduce what you don’t measure. We’ve footprinted all three emissions scopes, so both we and our customers know where carbon actually comes from.

Scope 1

Direct emissions

Fuel burned by our own trucks and equipment — the emissions we control most directly, and where efficient equipment and reduced idling pay off first.

Footprinted
Scope 2

Purchased energy

The electricity and energy that power our facilities. Measured and tracked as part of our full greenhouse gas inventory.

Footprinted
Scope 3

Value chain

The broader emissions across our supply chain and partners — something we’re constantly measuring. We’re transparent with our partners on our reporting whenever it’s needed, so they can attribute lower-carbon transportation in their own Scope 3 inventories.
