Transportation & Logistics Human Resources Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Organizational Development: Lead in the design and development of company HR initiatives and programs to ensure they are aligned with our business needs. Accurately identify organizational issues, develop solutions, and implement action plans. Promote effective methods of communication and empowerment. Establish and maintain positive community relations. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks.
Associate Relations: Act as primary contact for all employee relations issues/concerns and investigate associate complaints. Conducts engagement meetings with associates to gain “pulse” of the environment. Ensures compliance and execution of policies, procedures and programs. Primary contact for employee benefit questions including medical, dental, and life insurance.
Staffing: Manage recruitment process and conduct interviews to obtain work history, education, and job specific skills for all vacant position posting. Assert a positive onboarding experience for new employees. Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program, conducting and analyzing exit interviews. Analyzes and initiates activity to improve turnover and retention. Coordinate management of employees from outsource providers.
Recognition Programs: Assess employee engagement and develop action plans to ensure a positive, engaging and supportive workplace. Develop and administer recognition, review, & reward programs.
Training and Development. Develop and lead Logistics based training program and initiatives. Advise and coach associates for career development and performance issues. Provide guidance and direction to employees with emphasis on maintaining a high performing work environment. Facilitate and coordinate the annual performance review process.
B.S. in Human Resources or related field, 3 years minimum of experience in an HR role in Logistics. Excellent interpersonal, analytical and organization skills. Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite) Knowledge of HRIS systems (desired) Strong knowledge and understanding of federal and multi-state HR laws and DOT regulations Problem solving and decision making skills. Conflict management and resolution skills. Must be a hands-on professional, who functions within a team environment. Must possess proven ability to develop credible relationships with business partners.
